Course Overview

We will take everything you know tear it down, examine what you are doing and why, then begin a rebuilding process like you've never done before.

If it has been awhile, use this opportunity to go deeper or just kick off the rust. If you haven’t trained with us, take this opportunity to refine your skills sets.

In our experience, there is a great variety of abilities, experience, and focus of instructors who are graduates within the IIMQ lineage. Unfortunately, this means that many students may not be as prepared as they may have thought for doctoral studies.

This is not to impugn anyone’s prior training or teacher, but to emphasize that there are always refinements to be made and then built upon. Much is taught. Less is learned. This is always the case.

Additionally, we will share refinements and details of postures and techniques to include as many levels of Neigong as appropriate.

The foundation of all training is continuous refinement of physical structure.

This is true whether the training is martial, medical, or spiritual. Refining physical structure, and coming to accept the challenge to integrate what continuous means, will have deep and significant benefit for the practitioner and their clients.

Every posture should be done with a well-aligned body structure.

One should never practice the motions with their hands only and ignore the structural details. In failing to use proper structure, many will tend to use "local muscles" and forget to use their complete body structure; thus, wasting valuable energy and failing to gather Heaven and Earth into Man.

Each posture will carry substantial power, yet little energy is invested when correct posture, body structure and alignment, and a focused conscious intent are present. The ability to relax while maintaining good structure is the key to succeed in training.

Holding the body in tensegrity establishes a whole-body connection which links the lower and upper half of the body, giving it the ability to express itself with efficiency. As the practitioner gains a basic understanding of the correct structure of the body, and is learning to identify Qi (energy) moving through the body, the next stage of training manifests naturally and intrinsically.

This module will integrate refinements into the Daoist Five set. All exercises will be covered in detail, from gross movement to the subtlest alignment of structure. Energetic flow from physical structure will be maximized. Clarity and integration of five to seven distinct levels of Neigong (inner skill) will be taught. Additionally, three respiration methods will be reviewed and integrated into this dynamic set. The knowledge presented offers students the ability to generalize their understanding into each of their qigong exercises.

Yi Quan is complete in the sense that it enhances the development of every aspect of the full human potential, while conforming to natural human growth. Yi Quan is a qigong, a martial art, a philosophy, and a system of health maintenance.

Yi Quan goes directly to the central elements; to the development of energy and structural construction; and to the formation of a good relationship between heaven (space), earth (gravity), and man (our balanced structure). Combining and balancing the three elements of heaven, earth, and man will result in a good martial art, good health, good balance, and good mental attitude.

The purpose of this training is to take what most practitioners consider as a physical exercise and transform the approach and the presence of mind so that it becomes an exercise of Spirit. If the intent is correct, the mind is quiet, and awareness is entirely in the present moment with no recognition of the past or future. Stillness of the mind is the highest level of achievement; with it you will transcend into the Void and become one with the Dao.

Yi Quan has six stages of development. In this module we will cover the first three levels.

We will not only palpate the Weiqi, Yingqi, Blood, Marrow, Taiji Pole, and each of the organs, but we will also find their generating source and become aware of their purpose and function through direct experience. This module will take the practitioners awareness to new levels of diagnostics using a variety of methods. This module will include table work.

The General Protocol is many times over looked or quickly worked through to get to the “real” work. This idea is highly mistaken.

The General Protocol is an extremely effect treatment that can provide benefit for most any condition. In this module we will “review” this protocol showing the tremendous power that it possesses for change. This module will include table work.

Our bodies are a combination of sound, light, heat, and electromagnetic energy.

The body's energetic constitution is a combined matrix of sound, light, heat, and electromagnetic energy.

Studies on the effects of Qi projection conducted by Chinese scientists concluded that energy released by a Qigong doctor into a patient carries the properties of infrasound, static electricity, electromagnetics, infrared radiation, gamma rays, particle and wave flows, organic ion flows, and light. These properties produce physiological changes in the patient's tissues during the Qigong treatment.

This session will focus on specific Qi Extension techniques used in order to establish a working format with which to treat the patients. In the Medical Qigong clinics in China, treatment protocols are composed of the following Qi Extension, Guidance, and Regulation Techniques:

Linear Energetic Flow, Circular and Spiral Energetic Flow, and Vibrational Energetic Flow.

The combination of these three energetic patterns ensures that the patient is receiving maximum therapeutic benefits from the treatment.

The objective of these techniques is to influence the muscles, nerve fibers, and deep-lying tissues of the body in order to aid metabolism, stimulate energy flow, and to release deep seated emotions and stagnation.

A review of these techniques will be covered; including variations of applications and non-traditional methodologies. This module will include table work.

Five Element Medical Qigong Tissue Regulation techniques are usually combined to provide the most effective and efficient means of energetic therapy. The combination of soft touch and Qi Emission allows all patients (energetically sensitive patients, as well as non-responders) to more effectively experience a healing response.

When combining techniques of Qi Emission with these techniques, the patient's channels are more easily dredged and their Yin and Yang energies are often adjusted much more quickly because of the stimulation produced by the doctor's hands on the patient's channels and points.ccordion Description

Open to ALL current IMQC and former IIMQ lineage students and graduates.

If you are interested in the Medical Qigong Doctor Certificate Program (MQD) program or not, you are welcome.

If you’ve been away for a while and want a SOLID skills review. This is your opportunity!

If you wish to attend the Medical Qigong Doctor Certificate Program (MQD) and have not trained directly with Dr. Shannon, you must attend this preparatory seminar.

Purpose

The purpose of the MQD Preparation Seminar is to ensurethat all candidates have the appropriate understanding and background for the Doctoral program.

This purpose of this course also is to review and/or develop crucial MQ skills for deeper personal cultivation and clinical application.

In addition, new refinements have been made to the curriculum. These details of postures and techniques will be shared in this seminar.

Rarely do you find someone with Dr. Shannon's level of mastery of Medical Qigong, both energetically and intellectually, who is also a Master Teacher. He assists the student in learning at all levels of understanding - spiritual, mental, emotional and physical.
